The Stage is Set for a Breakthrough
They call February the month of love...but it's going to be a whole lot more than that in 2019. February is going to be more like the Month of Major Breakthroughs. We have several planets meeting in the sky and their combined energies are creating a very interesting cosmic dance.
There are several big conjunctions and squares happening in the sky, most notably Mars moving towards conjunction with Uranus in the sign of Aries on February 13. Mars Conjunct Uranus in the Sign of Aries at the 29th-degree
When these two join together, there is a tremendous amount of power involved and that power has the potential to create major change. Mars brings energy, vitality, and force to his meeting with Uranus, a planet who has the ability to hold tension, knock down existing structures and create brand new ways of doing things. Subtlety, however, is not the strong suit of either Mars or Uranus, especially when in the bold, outspoken sign of Aries. Mars has been emboldened by its journey through its home sign of Aries, marching towards its meeting with Uranus who stands as a gatekeeper of sorts at the 29th degree. Before Mars can enter the stable, Earthy sign of Taurus, it must first meet with and join forces with Uranus. I see the 29th-degree as a helpful influence here because it shows a maturity in both Uranus and Mars. They have both reached the final stage of their time in the fiery, independent sign Aries, and now it's time for them to embody the gifts they've received along the journey while releasing that which is no longer serving them. This meeting is ripe with blessings and change.
Mars and Uranus Square The South Node, Pluto in Capricorn
We can not leave this out of the conversation. Mars and Uranus are squaring off against the South Node and Pluto in Capricorn (with Saturn and Venus peeking around the corner, from a safe distance but close enough to see, just exactly what is going down.) The combination of the South Node and Pluto provides an opportunity for deep transformations to take place...a literal shedding of the skin as you grow out of that which no longer fits. Here we find another release- the release of control and fear, especially fear of your own power. There is a potential for deep healing by letting go of an old familiar pattern that has been limiting you for some time. Power, the proper use of power and how power shows up for you could all be major topics of conversation, or at the very least, top of mind. How has your power been limited? How can you change the way you're thinking about things so that you're not getting in your own way?
The stage is set for a major breakthrough.Could there be anger? Yes. Could this be a time when pent-up emotions pour forth without thinking? Yes. Could there be tears? Yes.Could this be a time to break down all of the existing structures and build something brand new? Yes.Could this still be a boring, ho-hum week of going through the motions with no major breakthroughs, causing you to throw your hands up in the air, staring up at the sky questioning, Where is my breakthrough? Yes.And all of that would be okay. It's actually more than okay. It may actually be time for it.Remember two things-1.) Do no harm.2.) Take no shit.Let the energies of the emotions and the messages they are trying to share flow through you knowing that this is not going to last forever. You will come out on the other side in just a few days' time. The more consciousness you bring to each situation, the more you can work with these energies to recognize the possibilities involved in this kind of meeting. While you cannot necessarily control the circumstances you find yourself in, you can control how you respond. For example, a loved one could have a meltdown sharing pent-up frustrations and repressed anger that has been building for some time. Perhaps you are the one who has the meltdown. Either way, the release of the energy is a good thing. Let it go.Once the emotions are out there to really deal with and discuss, there is more potential for growth than there was when the emotions were all bottled up.What is the Missing Piece in all of this? The missing piece is Libra. The lovely, fair-minded sign of balance, who rules over the house of relationships with Venus by her side. If you look at the chart above, she lies there empty, resting peacefully, as is her way...waiting and watching the fireworks display in the sky. It's almost as if she knows that these steps are necessary before she will meet her match and before she can bring her expertise in relationships to bear. If things get to be too much, reach into the Libra inside of you and rest there.TimeLine:February 3- Mars in Aries in Tight Square with Pluto in CapricornFebruary 7- Mars in Aries in Tight Square with South Node in CapricornFebruary 10- Moon/Mars/Uranus in Aries Squaring Pluto/South Node in CapricornFebruary 13- Mars Conjunct Uranus in 29-degrees of AriesFebruary 14- Mars Enters Taurus at 0-degreesMarch 14- Uranus Enters Taurus at 0-degreesDefinitions of Astrological Terms Used in this Blog:ConjunctionThe easiest of the meetings is a conjunction. This happens when two (or possibly more) planets arrive at the same place in the sky. In a conjunction, the planets essentially join forces, which combines their powers in a synergistic way. They are blended, therefore, they act together. They no longer see each other as individuals or act as individual planets- they merge. The closer they are in conjunction the more powerfully the energies of the planets combine. The key word here is "fusion".SquaresPlanets can also come together in a 90-degree angle to one another, which is known in the world of astrology as a Square. Squares are often noted as challenging aspects, in which there is a considerable amount of friction between the two planets. Unlike oppositions where the planets involved are opposites and therefore have qualities in common, the planets involved in a square just don't see life the same way. Oftentimes, a square holds a strong potential for a developmental breakthrough, however, only if one is able to see the opportunity within the challenge and evolve. However, in his book, The Inner Sky, my teacher Steven Forrest says, "Don't look for ways to "resolve" a square. You won't find them. They're irresolvable. Even at their best, they are a source of unending restlessness in the character. And ideally, that restlessness is a healing force, leading not to peace, but to growth and accomplishment." p.228For me, squares feel like passing storms filled with frustration and challenges. I prefer to "batten down the hatches", weather the storm until it passes and come back out of hiding once there are clear skies again. It is definitely not a time for deep decision making, however, it can be a time for dealing with unresolved issues.
