Full Moon in Sagittarius

With the Sun in playful, inquisitive Gemini and the Moon in optimistic, philosophical Sagittarius, one might expect a period of light-hearted, joyful adventures. While that's true for some, many are experiencing a different reality.

An undeniable heaviness hangs in the air as we witness deeply concerning global events. My hope is this Moon acts as a healing balm, offering a generosity of spirit to guide us through hard times and faith in a grand design greater than we can imagine.

Spiritual Maturity

With all that is happening in the world, this is a time that calls for spiritual maturity, not spiritual bypassing. Full Moons are always oppositional energies, because the Moon has to be opposite the Sun in order for it to be Full. Oppositions bring moments of full illumination where you can see the person or the situation more clearly. When faced with someone or something that you feel diametrically opposed to, turn inward to your inner environment. Allow yourself to feel all of the hard feelings- the rage, the disgust, the fear, the uncertainty, the judgment, whatever it is that is creating the inner turbulence.

The Purifying Power of Fire

Invite in a gentle, purifying fire. Imagine that you are able to place these feelings into the light of the fire, in the center of your heart. Allow this loving fire to grow- gently in a way that feels comfortable to you. You might even imagine that you sit inside of a beautiful flame that clears and protects your energy. Allow the hard feelings to melt in a sea of compassion for both yourself and the “other”. These hard feelings may come back again and again- like ocean waves. You can drown in them, or you can learn to hold them with wisdom and integrity. Fire transforms. The power to transform lies within you. It does not lie with the other person.

This practice is not a magical cure that suddenly causes difficulties to vanish, but it does allow you to work with your own feelings in a more conscious way. It allows you to stay present to the atrocities we are witnessing and remain in your personal power and inner integrity. This is a humble suggestion- a way for people to feel better in hard times. Shifting your inner state can make a world of difference in how you move about your day.

The Midpoint of Eclipse Season

Pay attention to what's entering and exiting your life. Trust your intuition when drawn to something new, and equally, when ready to release something old. Some changes will be self-driven, others will be driven by the environment and circumstances around you. This is not a time to revisit the past. It's a time to look forward. The past reality no longer exists as you remember it.

Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, is the dispositor of the Full Moon as well as the ruler of the North Node in Pisces. Jupiter is a planet that searches for greater meaning in life. After a long stay in Gemini, Jupiter has just transitioned into the intuitive waters of Cancer. Jupiter in Cancer brings a genuine opportunity to grow in your emotional wisdom, increasing your capacity to cultivate nurturing bonds. Jupiter Square Saturn

Though we're feeling a boost from Jupiter’s new home in Cancer, it must still complete the final square with Saturn. This dynamic between Jupiter, a planet that grows and Saturn, a planet that creates limits, has created a tense push-pull dynamic throughout 2024 into 2025. It may feel like a desire to grow countered by a feeling of being held back.

The Saturn-Neptune conjunction is a major player in the current heaviness we are experiencing in the world. This nebulous energy has been present for a while, a strange blend of dissolving structures with no clear path for rebuilding in the future. With a sextile from Pluto in Aquarius, authority figures on the world stage have been employing nefarious, deceptive tactics to maintain power.

I’m also deeply concerned about the abuse of technology, especially when it comes to the amount of water that is required to cool data centers for AI. These data centers are receiving billions of queries every minute, and it is requiring an incredible amount of water to cool them down. We need to implement some limits and regulations on water usage. The planet can not be drained of its water so that computers can become smarter than us. Seriously- what is happening? what are we doing? and why are we playing right into it? I just don’t get it.

Like me, you might find yourself asking, "Who's in charge here? What's the plan for the future? Why is this happening?"

So many of us are in transition. The old reality is gone; what comes next is unclear. Everything is changing, and the future is uncertain. It is a very intense time.

This is the part that requires spiritual maturity, which is a very healthy use of the Saturn-Neptune energy. We can’t bypass the hard stuff.
